A beautiful view of the woods is a highlight of this cozy room. A fireplace keeps guests warm as they enjoy a night's sleep in a four poster bed.

About Symonds Ryder
The Ryder family name has been associated with Hiram for eight generations. In 1814, at the age of 22, Symonds Ryder travelled to Hiram from Vermont and purchased a 115 acre farm in Hiram Township. En route to Hiram, Ryder passed through Buffalo, New York, only twelve hours before it was captured by the British during the War of 1812. Twenty years later, he and his brother, Jason, were instrumental in organizing a Disciples of Christ congregation in Hiram which ultimately led to the founding of the College. Symonds was renowned in his day for being a man of unmarred integrity and superior intelligence, and he served as an elder in the Hiram Church until his death in 1871.
